Narture

Narture is an Ayr-based food and arts social enterprise using artisan baking to fund creative activity, community projects, training and employment. Since 2020, it has grown into six connected town-centre spaces:

KNEAD – Narture’s artisan sourdough bakery, creating employment, training and a sustainable income stream that supports its wider cultural work.

SHAPE – Café & bread shop.

CREATE- analogue photography and Riso print-studio offering workshops, inductions and access to creative equipment for artists, schools and wider community.

Narture Studios – affordable artist, maker and wellbeing spaces supporting creative practice, workshops and learning.

MAKE – a street-level gallery, workshop and live artist studio, currently home to the Blank Canvas residency programme.

The Auld Toy Shop – Narture’s newest space, being developed as a year-long community-led programme of exhibitions, workshops, performances, events and creative activity.

Together, these spaces create an ecosystem where food supports culture, artists are supported to develop their practice, and communities can access opportunities to make, learn and connect.
